Getting started
What is Unfollow for TikTok?
Unfollow for TikTok is a Chrome extension that cleans up and keeps up your account from inside your own browser: it unfollows accounts that don't follow you back, auto likes videos on your For You feed, your Following feed or a hashtag, and auto comments on a hashtag with comments you wrote yourself. It runs in the Chrome side panel next to the tiktok.com tab you are already logged into, paces every action like a person, and stops on its own the moment TikTok refuses something.
How do I install it and start the first session?
Add it from the Chrome Web Store with one click, open a tiktok.com tab where you are logged in, and click the extension icon to open the side panel. Pick a tab — Unfollow, Likes or Comments — set a daily limit you are comfortable with, and press Start. There is no account to create and nothing to configure; a first session usually starts within two minutes of installing.
Do I need to sign up or create an account?
No. There is no registration, no email sign-up and no login of any kind. The extension works with the TikTok session already open in your browser, and the free plan activates automatically on install. The only thing identifying you to our server is your TikTok user ID, which is needed to count your daily actions.
Do I need to keep the tiktok.com tab open during a session?
Yes. The session runs inside your tiktok.com tab, so that tab has to stay open while the extension works — if no tab is open, it opens one for you. You can switch to other tabs and windows in the meantime; the side panel keeps showing live progress, the countdown and the log.
Plans & billing
What does the free plan include?
The free plan gives you 7 unfollows, 7 likes and 7 comments per day, renewing every day with no credit card and no trial countdown. Every protection is included: the Safe List by hand, Skip Mutual Followers, the 7-day grace period, Manual Confirm, all filters, Skip Ads, the stats chart and CSV export. It is the right plan for a following list of a few hundred accounts.
What does PRO include and what does it cost?
PRO costs €9.99 per month, billed through Stripe. It raises the daily limit to up to 150 unfollows, 200 likes and 50 comments per day, each set with its own slider, adds "Protect everyone I follow right now" — one click that puts your whole current following on the Safe List — and gives priority support. The protections and filters are the same as on the free plan; PRO changes volume, not safety.
How do I cancel PRO?
Anytime, in two ways: open the link in the Stripe receipt you received by email, or go to unfollowtiktok.com/billing/ and manage the subscription there. There are no emails to write and no retention hoops. You keep full PRO access until the end of the period you already paid for and then drop back to the free plan automatically.
Can I get a refund?
If you are a consumer in the EU or the UK, you have a 14-day right of withdrawal on your first purchase: email info@unfollowtiktok.com within 14 days of paying and we refund it. After that, cancelling stops the next renewal and your access runs to the end of the paid period. If something is broken on our side, write to us anyway — we would rather fix it or refund than keep a customer who cannot use the product.
When does the daily quota reset?
The extension's own counters renew once a day, so the free plan's 7 unfollows, 7 likes and 7 comments come back every day. TikTok's own limits are a different matter: TikTok publishes no numbers, and whether its internal counters reset at a fixed hour or roll over 24 hours is unclear from what users report. Leave a full day between heavy sessions and you are on the safe side of both.
Unfollow
How does the extension decide who to unfollow?
It reads your own Following list, newest first, and considers each account in turn. Before any removal it runs the checks you switched on: the Safe List, the 7-day grace period, Skip Mutual Followers, the filters (follower and following ranges, skip verified accounts, remove accounts with no videos) and Manual Confirm, which shows a bar on the page so you approve or skip each removal yourself. An account caught by any check is skipped and logged with the reason, and a skip never uses one of your daily unfollows.
Can I remove only the people who don't follow me back?
Yes — that is what Skip Mutual Followers is for. With it on, everyone who follows you back is left alone and only non-followers are removed. The check happens live, for each account, at the moment the session reaches it, not from an old export; if the status of an account cannot be determined, the extension skips it rather than guessing.
How does the Safe List work?
The Safe List is your "never unfollow these" list. Add any username on any plan and no session will ever remove it, whether or not that account follows you back; it is checked before every other setting. On PRO, "Protect everyone I follow right now" puts your whole current following on the list in one click — the right first move before a big cleanup, so that only accounts you follow later are ever considered.
What does the 7-day grace period do?
It skips every account you followed within the last 7 days. Follow-backs usually arrive in the first days after a follow, so the grace period stops a cleanup from removing someone who was still deciding. The boundary is rounded in your favor — a page of your Following list that straddles the 7-day line is treated as recent. Switch it off only when you deliberately want to undo this week's follows.
Is there a record of what the extension unfollowed?
Yes. Every unfollow is logged with the username and the time, and the whole history exports to a CSV file for Excel or Google Sheets on every plan. During the session the live log also shows every skip with its reason — protected, grace period, follows you back, unknown or filter — so there are no silent decisions. The history lives in your browser; export it before uninstalling if you want to keep it.
Auto like
Where can auto like work, and how does it pick videos?
Three sources: your For You feed, your Following feed, or any hashtag you type in. The extension opens each video, watches it for 3–8 seconds the way a person does, then taps like, and moves on with 8–20 seconds between each like and a break every 15. There is no targeting beyond the source you choose — it likes what the feed or the hashtag shows, minus ads.
Does auto like skip ads?
Yes. With Skip Ads on, sponsored videos are detected and passed without a like, so your likes never land on promoted content. The same Skip Ads option exists in auto comment, where it matters even more, because a comment under an advertiser's video is public.
How many likes per day are allowed?
7 likes per day on the free plan and up to 200 likes per day on PRO, set with a slider. TikTok publishes no official number; the ceiling people observe on ordinary accounts is well above our cap, and the extension stays below it on purpose. If TikTok refuses a like, the Likes mode pauses on its own — your unfollows and comments continue.
Auto comment
How does auto comment work?
You pick a hashtag and write your own comments — a list you add to and remove from at any time. The extension opens the videos of that hashtag, watches each one for 4–9 seconds, and posts one of your comments chosen at random. The same text never goes out twice in a row, no video ever receives a second comment from you, and the Also Like option likes the video in the same visit.
Are the comments public, and should I test first?
Yes, every comment is posted under your name exactly like a comment you typed yourself, and it stays until you delete it. We recommend running your first session on a test account, reading your comment list twice before you start, and writing comments that fit the hashtag — short, specific and friendly reads as a person; generic praise reads as spam.
How many comments per day, and how fast?
7 comments per day on the free plan and up to 50 comments per day on PRO; the PRO slider starts at a default of 20. Pacing is 20–45 seconds between each comment, in rounds of 5–8 with 10–20 minutes between rounds. Sponsored videos are skipped with Skip Ads, and a refusal pauses the Comments mode only.
Safety & privacy
Is it safe to use automation on my TikTok account?
Honest answer: automation of any kind is discouraged by TikTok's terms and carries some risk, and anyone promising zero risk is not being straight with you. What gets accounts restricted is speed and bursts. The extension works at a human pace — random delays, breaks, rounds, an hourly pace limit on unfollows and a daily limit you set — and it backs off automatically the moment TikTok refuses an action. Human pace lowers the odds; it is not a promise. Start with a conservative daily limit and raise it gradually.
Do you need my TikTok password?
No, never. There is no password form anywhere in the extension. It runs inside your own browser, in the tiktok.com tab you are already logged into, and uses that session for everything. If any tool asks you for your TikTok password, that is the moment to close it.
What data does the extension send to your server?
Only your TikTok user ID and daily action counts sync to our server — that is what enforces the plan limits. Your comment texts, hashtags, Safe List and unfollow history stay in the browser. There are no third-party analytics or trackers, and the extension never reads or uploads your password, messages, videos or follower lists. The privacy policy spells this out in full.
What happens when TikTok refuses an action?
The extension stops that mode at once and shows a countdown. The first refusal pauses the mode for 2 hours; a second refusal within 7 days pauses it for 24 hours and halves that day's limits. Cooldowns are per mode — a refused like never stops your unfollows. Nothing is retried during the cooldown, because retrying straight after a block is what makes the next block longer.
Troubleshooting
The panel says "Not signed in" — what do I do?
The extension could not find a logged-in TikTok session in the tab. Open tiktok.com in the same browser profile, log in as you normally would, make sure your profile loads, then press Start again in the side panel. If you use several browser profiles, the extension only sees the one the side panel is open in.
TikTok wants me to pass a verification — what now?
Solve it yourself on tiktok.com — the slider or rotate puzzle — and then start the session again. The extension stops when a verification appears and never tries to pass it for you; clicking through a check automatically is exactly the behavior that gets accounts flagged. A verification during a session is also a hint to lower your daily limit for a few days.
What does the cooldown banner mean?
TikTok refused an action — a "too fast" message, a failed request, or an unfollow that was silently restored — and the extension paused that mode to protect your account. The banner shows which mode is paused and a countdown: 2 hours after a first refusal, 24 hours with halved limits after a second refusal within 7 days. The other modes keep working. Wait it out; retrying sooner on your own makes the next block longer.
I reloaded the page and the session stopped — did I lose anything?
No. A running session lives inside the tiktok.com page, so reloading or navigating away interrupts it. Your counts, the remaining budget and the paused state are saved, so open the side panel and press Start again to continue where it stopped. Leave the tab alone during a session — you can work in other tabs and windows freely.
Does it work on Edge, Brave, Opera or on mobile?
It works on any Chromium-based browser with Manifest V3 support — Google Chrome first, plus Microsoft Edge, Brave and Opera — always installed through the Chrome Web Store. There is no mobile version: it is a desktop extension that runs next to tiktok.com, and it does not work in the TikTok app or in mobile browsers. The results are of course visible on your account everywhere.
How do I contact support?
Email info@unfollowtiktok.com. We answer within 24–48 hours, PRO subscribers first, and we read everything — bug reports, billing questions and feature ideas alike. If you are reporting a problem, include your browser, the extension version and what the side panel showed; a screenshot of the log helps most.
